What is BlokNotes?
BlokNotes is a connected workspace that combines block-based note-taking with the records a small business runs on: projects, tasks, companies, contacts, deals, meetings, quotes, invoices, timesheets, research and more — plus an AI assistant and a built-in headless CMS.
How is BlokNotes different from Notion or other note apps?
BlokNotes treats business objects as first-class: invoices with real tax handling and PDF generation, a CRM pipeline with activities, approvable timesheets and structured research are built in — not assembled from generic databases and templates. The writing surface stays a calm editor.
Does BlokNotes replace my invoicing tool?
For most freelancers and small teams, yes: quotes, invoices, per-line tax rates, branded PDFs, custom numbering, payment tracking and overdue statuses are all included, connected to your clients and projects.
What languages does BlokNotes support?
The interface is currently English. Generated documents and exports — invoices, timesheets — support English, Dutch, French and German labels.
Is there a mobile app?
BlokNotes runs in the browser and works on mobile screens. Dedicated mobile apps are on the roadmap.

What does BlokNotes cost?
BlokNotes is free during the public beta — all features, no usage limits, no credit card required.
What happens when the beta ends?
Paid plans will be introduced with clear advance notice, and a free tier will remain. Beta users keep their data either way, and workspace export is always available.
Are AI features included for free?
Every workspace gets a free monthly AI credit allowance for built-in models. You can also connect your own OpenAI, Anthropic or Google API key and use your own quota.
Data & security
Where is my data stored?
You choose a data region per workspace — EU or US — so your content lives where it suits you and your customers best.
Can I export my data?
Yes, workspace export is built in. Your notes and records leave with you — there is no lock-in.
How are secrets and API keys protected?
Vault secrets are encrypted with AES-GCM using keys derived from your own password via PBKDF2 — BlokNotes never stores that password. Workspace AI provider keys are also stored encrypted.
Is my content used to train AI models?
No. Content sent to AI providers is used only to answer your request, under API terms that exclude training use.
Teams & collaboration
Can I use BlokNotes with my team?
Yes — invite members by email with owner, editor or reader roles. Mentions, notifications and a shared activity feed keep everyone aligned.
Can I keep personal and company workspaces separate?
Yes. Workspaces are fully isolated, and one account can belong to any number of them — switch with one click.
Can I give my accountant or a client read-only access?
Invite them as a reader: full visibility into what you share, zero ability to change it.
